about myself
about myself

I am an experienced counsellor and senior accredited member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy). I have diplomas in individual and couples counselling and supervision, together with a level three qualification in emdr (eye movement de-sensitization and reprocessing). EMDR is a well researched and successful way of working with trauma and difficult memories.

At present, BACP has approximately 36,000 members, of which about six percent have achieved senior accredited status. This includes continuous professional development and over 1,400 hours of counselling experience. I have a strong personal commitment to keeping up to date with developments in counselling, and have been involved in my own personal development work for the past 14 years.

I have extensive experience working in education with diversity and disability issues. My practice currently includes counselling for several EAPs (employers assistance programmes). I am a registered provider for the following insurance companies: Simply Health, Exeter, WPA, Aviva, Standard Life and Pru Health.

EMDR
This is a well researched and successful way of working with trauma and difficult memories. I am trained to use this (Level 4) and also have an advanced training in working with recent traumatic episodes. If you are struggling as a result of difficult or traumatic memories EMDR may be very useful for you.
